Artist's Comments

This is a shot of Jarkko Ruutu, of the Pittsburgh Penguins, scoring on Martin Gerber, of the Ottawa Senators, to win the game.

The game had gone into overtime and then a shootout. This was the 5th round of a shootout, the first one that I have seen live.

It was taken Nov. 22 here in Ottawa. I had taken my slr but they made me check it. I used my Canon S3 IS, not a bad shot considering I was in the upper level when I took this.

You can see more hockey shots in my other account as well

Great action shot, perfect timing. I didn't even try bringing my SLR to the games I've been to, as their website states that cameras with detachable lenses are not allowed. I took a few shots with my friend's PowerShot, but they didn't come out too great. It didn't help that we were way up in the 300s, though.

Thanks. I hadn't read the website so I brought the SLR, but as I said they made me check it. I took this one with my Canon S3 IS from the 300s, it has a great zoom.

Yeah, it looks like it. I'd still love to be able to bring my SLR and 300mm lens into games. I guess you've have to have a press pass or something to do that though.
